The skin is more prone to dehydration during the summer when necessary care is not taken. Symptoms of dehydration are more or less similar to dry skin. You may choose from any of the cosmetic scrubs available in the market or make one at home. 4-5 tablespoon of gram flour and 5-6 drops of rose water and milk along with a pinch of turmeric will do wonders. Keep your skin moisturized every day

Using the right type of moisturizer during the day and night is essential to keep the skin hydrated. Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in the process of rejuvenating the skin by retaining moisture, repairing the regulating tissues, thus keeping the skin soft and supple.

Although water-based products increase hydration, it is advisable to use them as part of the morning routine. Since skin requires nutrients, it is important to use oil-based and nutrient-filled products at night to absorb the benefits and stay healthy.

Drink enough water

Increase intake of supplements

You can increase the intake of supplements like selenium, zinc, vitamin C and E rich foods. Apart from protecting the skin from free radicals caused due to the sun’s harsh ultraviolet rays, they help the skin cells retain more moisture and elasticity.

Using the right sunscreen

The best way to protect your skin throughout the summer is to use sunscreen every day. The application of an anti-sweat lotion with a moisturizing cream that provides a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher with a broad spectrum agent that protects against UVA and UVB rays keeps the skin healthy. However, people with fairer skin, lighter hair and lighter eyes often need a stronger sun block that provides SPF 30 than their darker counterparts.

Apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before going out. Sunscreen should always be reapplied after contact with water or after exercise since towel drying and sweat removes sunscreen, which makes it less effective.

Maximize the use of fresh ingredients rich in antioxidants that keep the skin oxygenated by protecting or repairing any damage caused by UV radiation from the sun.

Try to avoid alcohol or carbonated drinks
