A skin moisturizer with SPF 15 is ideal for normal to oily skin. Regular usage of a facial scrub a few months prior to the event such as a wedding or engagement etc. will help you achieve that special glow. From my experience of working with brides so far, they are always concerned that their makeup will never last the night.
My makeup tip is: waterproof everything, including eye liner, mascara and a primer too. For lipstick kisses or smudges from the eye mascara or lip gloss, use a blotting paper. You can never be too ready for a public event and not consider the occasion of posing for a group photo with bright flashlights. Too little makeup and you might not even pop up in the group. Too much makeup and you might end up looking crazy! Balance out the makeup by applying a bronzer for an even complexion. Also a non-HD powder or mattifier for the T-zone will work wonders. This keeps your skin glowing but without giving that ghostly paleness when the camera flashes are too bright.
Some of the light foundation or a tinted moisturizers I really love, recommend and regularly use for my high-profile clients are : CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner (for the roots of the lashes) or a NARS Satin Lip Pencil.
Remember, always take good care of your skin first. The makeup is just the cherry on top. It should not be mistaken for the cake.
